1. What is your favorite memory from these past 4 years?

“If I was to choose one good memory from the past 4 years it would probably be the time my cheer squad received a bid to disney, competing in a cheer competition, making it to Semi-Finals, moving on to Finals[, and] then finally winning the title 17th place in the whole nation. The whole trip was definitely one for the books. I will always cherish that moment because we broke PHS history and I’m so blessed to even be a part of an amazing opportunity like that.”

2. If you could only watch 3 movies for the rest of your life which movies would you watch?

“Hmm, If I was to choose 3 movies I would most likely watch Polar Express, Black Panther, or Fast & Furious (I love the whole series).”

3. What advice would you give to the future students of Porter High School?

“I would tell the future student[s] at PHS to never give up and always strive for excellence, improvement, greatness and happiness no matter what. We all have our ups and downs but that shouldn’t give you a reason to stop & give up or not try. ‘Our failures are an important part of our growth’- Michelle Obama…. We have to fail in order to succeed!! Don’t ever feel discouraged because greatness will always be within you. Believe in yourself.”

King

Austin Perkins, 17

Q&A:

1. What is your favorite memory from these past 4 years?

“My favorite memory from these past 4 years was when the football team won our first playoff game last year on the last play of the game. Holding up that gold football and going see the people I love after the game was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.”

2. If you could only watch 3 movies for the rest of your life which movies would you watch?

“Three movies I could watch for the rest of my life are: Remember the Titans, the Avengers (any one in the series), and Creed 1 and 2.”

3. What advice would you give to the future students of Porter High School?

“My advice for the future Spartans of Porter High School would be to get involved in some type of organization or activity. You will have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and have tons of fun. Don’t go to school just to go to school for the next 4 years when you can get involved and actually enjoy your high school career. Understand that it goes by fast and doesn’t last forever!”

Q&A:

Connor Evers, 17

Band, Choir, Theatre Production

Q&A:

1. What is your favorite memory from these past 4 years?

“My favorite memory from my 4 years was probably making it to state my junior year. It was a very stressful year and the expectations for us were very high. I remember all the bands that made it to the finals all lined up on the field and the tension was extremely high. As soon as our name was called I remember the entire band cheering, and all the upperclassmen were getting emotional. It was truly a memory that will stick with me for years to come.”

2. If you could only watch 3 movies for the rest of your life which movies would you watch?

“If I could only watch 3 movies for the rest of my life they would probably be Real Steel, The Greatest Showman, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. “

3. What advice would you give to the future students of Porter High School?

“My advice for future students would be to get involved with as many things you possibly can. Porter gives its students so many opportunities, and a good percent of the students take those opportunities for granted. Do what you are passionate about and go from there. You only have 4 years of high school, so make the most out of it.”
