Our Boys Spartan Soccer teams competed in Playoffs early this month. Won the District Championship, and received awards at their District Championship. We are so proud of them and how far they have come since the season began.

“Overall I feel good we accomplish our goals and made history in our program. It didn’t end the way we wanted but we learned from our mistakes and move on,” said Alejandro Avila. “My favorite part of the season was beating Kingwood Park in our last game of the season at their home. We made history by being the first-ever to get a district championship in our soccer program. It was a good season. We grew closer as a team as we kept playing together. Trusting each other was a big role on and off the field and also team bonding off the field helped us get closer as a team.”

The journey of these athletes to be District Champions is one that can be described as remarkable. With some athletes even winning District awards, the growth can really be seen and we very much appreciate the effort these athletes have put into their passion for soccer.

“I feel the season was a great one with the first district title ever for Men’s soccer. We had to overcome many challenges as a team. Setting a school-record 19-game unbeaten streak. We have always had talent in the past but this was I think the best TEAM we have had. They just worked so well together. Everyone made a huge impact on this team and if someone went down it was just like, next man up. We had many district and state honors,” said Coach Kunkel.
