The Lady Varsity Basketball team had a long season with some tough wins and hard losses. They finished district with a 8-6 record, beating some really tough teams such as Lake Creek, Montgomery, and district rivals, New Caney. All the hard work paid off to secure their fourth place spot allowing them to move forward into playoffs. It was a rough start with lots of new experiences with a new coach, Clarneva Pierre. Junior, Angelina Khalaf said.

“It was challenging not knowing anything about her but after a while we learned more and everyone has something to teach you,” said Khalaf.

The girls basketball team went up against college station for the first game in the playoffs. They tried their hardest but unfortunately, they couldn’t pull through with the win. However, they were able to experience going to playoffs, something that they were not able to do in the previous season.

“I feel like our season ended well with us going to playoffs; it gave everybody experience and it was a great way for the seniors to end their high school season,” said Senior, D’asia Williams.

Although they were not able to win their first playoff game it set a good example for future Lady Spartans Basketball teams and motivated the underclassmen to look forward to next year.
