On April 15, 2024 the spartan chorale and spartan women choirs attended South Main Baptist Church in downtown Houston and participated in the annual celebration of excellence. Celebration of Excellence is an event where choirs meet and compete to win awards based on their singing performance(s).

Both Spartan chorale and Spartan women attended the event where they both earned performance of distinction awards.

“Firstly, competing in such a prestigious event challenges our choir members to strive for excellence in their performance, Secondly, the feedback received from expert adjudicators provides valuable insights that help our singers grow and improve,” said Greg Goedecke, head choir director.

“I really enjoyed performing on the South Main Baptist stage. Celebration of excellence was special to me because I got to spend time with all of my closest choir friends. I was proud of chorale and Spartan women performances and I think it was the best I had sang,” said Nahomy Bautista a student of both Chorale & Spartan women.
