Choir started the 2023-2024 school year off with their annual fall concert on October 3. The choir was accompanied by both the Pine Valley and the White Oak Middle School choirs to perform “Mothers of Daughters,” and “Hands are Knockin’.”
“I thought it was fun for our middle school feeders to see what it was like to sing on a high school stage,” said Choir Director Gregory Goedecke.
For many choir members such as choir President Parker Warren, singing with the middle schoolers was exciting and a great opportunity that encouraged them to join choir in high school.
”I think it’s exciting to have so many kids who are going to be the future face of our program sing with us,” said Warren.
Choir was also accompanied by many different instruments, including piano, as well as percussion, oboe, bass, and cello played by other fine arts students.
Orchestra member Xavier Martinez said that the fine arts should be a lot more interactive together, in a sense of having more combined concerts.
Although the choirs are still learning how to work and sing together, the concert was a success. Members are excited for future concerts and competitions in which they will be even more prepared.
“The first concerts are always the hardest, but I am excited to the one’s in the future,” said Warren.
