The 2024 competition season for color guard is set up for success with their production show called Evermore. Color guard Captain Fabian Cervantes, Melanie Easley, and Colorguard Director Mr. Rico were very pleased to discuss the production of Evermore as well as the growth of the team.
“Our show Evermore focuses on the season of fall as well as the revolution of how seasons change. A song by Taylor Swift is incorporated within our routine which I find so beautiful and unique to our production. This year’s colorguard team has regained so much trust which fills me with an immense amount of joy because we are all united as one big family and I cannot wait to see what fantastic things we will do this competition season. As captain, I am very blessed to work with so many talented individuals who share this incredible passion,” said Fabian Cervantes.
“Evermore is such a well written show that highlights the fall season which is such a special show due to having stunning flags with leaves as well as unique trees to demonstrate emotion to the audience. Winterguard this year will be so much fun because our members have a strong skill mindset which gives us the ability to do more impressive and difficult things. I am thrilled to experience this one last time with all of my friends,” said Melanie Easley.
“This year’s competition show is entitled Evermore and we are using our props from the 2023 marching season to create the vibe and atmosphere of what fall is and what emotions it can depict. The color guard team this year has set a standard of trust which is incredible because I can see how well they work and communicate together. I think this winterguard season will be unlike any other because of the individuals we are bringing in to help us succeed at each competition we attend.” says Mr. Rico.
