Sorters Mill Elementary school has an annual fall festival where the staff asks a couple of programs from our school for help. Cosmetology has contributed to helping for the past 4 years now!
Fall Festival consists of teachers making up games in front of their classroom for any student who dares to test their skills! While also selling snacks, drinks and most importantly snow cones. Fall festivals bring so much joy to students and teachers from playing games or getting to have more interaction time with them.
The cosmetology program gives a hand by face painting these wonderful faces. “We’ve been participating with the sorter’s mill for about four years now and every single time it brings me so much joy to see my students wanting to help,” said Mrs. Hamilton.
They have a variety of choices for face paint, they could choose between a simple design that consists of flowers, superhero symbols or perhaps they wanted an animal look. Cosmetology did it all! Not only did they do face painting but the children had a choice between a clip on hair extension or hair chalk with a variety of colors.
Jocelyn Chavez said, As every child walked away with their faces painted and a big smile, it reminds me why we help participate and help our community as much as we can.”
