Now that the Superbowl is over, it’s time to slide into baseball season. This spring, Houston’s favorite baseball team is making a grand entrance. The Houston Astros are back and ready to play ball!
Hearing from one of the Astros biggest fans is Gavin Koenning. He says,“ Of course we will make our comeback this year. Astros over Rangers any day of the week”. As this season starts with a new coach and new players we have mixed feelings about whether or not this will benefit the team for the better. “I miss Dusty Baker, I’m upset he left. He definitely was the goat” as said by Gavin. “I’m telling you we are not winning any more, it’s over for the Astros as a team.”
Another big Astros fan is Juan Barrera. He says, “After last season’s loss to the Texas Rangers, I do not have much hope for the Astros this year.” Losing the World Series title last year has hit some of the fans very hard. “I’m telling you we are not winning any more, it’s over for the Astros as a team. Maybe in a year or two they will conquer the title again,” he says. The 2023 season left a huge impact on the city of Houston.
Assistant Principal Mr. Froman is a huge Astros fan himself! He says, “I do think the Rangers last year had a better rotation as well as pitching and hitting. If we can stay healthy, I do believe that the Houston Astros will be making a comeback this 2024 baseball season. The new coach that they put in place will be no different than Dusty Baker due to the players already knowing him and being with him, so I think they will play well for him. My favorite player is Chas McCormick because he is from the same area where I’m from and I actually got to watch a game with his dad which was really cool.”
March 28th is Opening Day for the 2024 MLB season so save the date and go support the Houston Astros!
