School lunches have always been a hot topic whether students love them or hate them. A lot of students don’t even eat the school lunches, even though they have free/reduced lunches or can purchase them. The Spartan Oracle wanted to take a closer look at what students thought about school lunches and how to improve them.
So during our story about our school lunch review, we have learned that there are many mixed opinions about the school lunches varying from students really enjoying the lunches to very dissatisfied students who would prefer different foods on the menu.
Jake Holsen said that we need some variety with our ID “We need more variety to be added and I mean we’ve been getting the exact same meals over and over for the past four years, even back in middle school having the same meals.”
I agree with this statement; it has been a while since we have had a different rotation of food, and if not a decrease in the price due to sometimes not getting three dollars worth of food.
Another opinion we got was from the infamous James Devour stating that we are provided with delicious food nutritional food. “I really like that spicy popcorn chicken with the curly fries are a good one, and I really like the steak fingers with the mashed potatoes,” said Devore.
I sort of agree with Devore. I think it just really depends on the day, sometimes they’ll have nutritious food that fills you up and on other days it’s one drumstick. It does not fulfill the majority of the student’s needs.
The final common opinion from students on what food would they like to see added to them menu is chicken wings with various flavors, most popularly Mango Habanero, Lemon Pepper, and Buffalo.
Overall everyone has different opinions about the food and that’s okay, and I think we can take constructive criticism from the feedback.
