This year marks a special milestone for the high school yearbook as it celebrates its 15th anniversary of capturing the essence of school life. The yearbook, which has become a cherished keepsake for students, is currently on sale for $70, with prices expected to increase soon. Senior ads are also available, giving students an opportunity to commemorate their final year.
Although they have already come up with a unique theme for this year’s yearbook, the details have yet to be revealed. Estella Jasso, a third-year member and senior, shared her excitement: “I like the ideas we’ve come up with so far. They’re very unique and nothing like we’ve come up with before.” Jasso emphasized that teamwork is essential in yearbook, encouraging those who work well with others to join. “If you’re someone who tends to slack off, you shouldn’t join yearbook because you’ll weigh people down,” she added.
For many, the yearbook is more than just a project. Daniela Arias, also a third-year senior, spoke about the experience: “What I like best about yearbook is going to different games and taking pictures. I also love interviewing and interacting with people.” Arias believes the theme this year fits perfectly, adding, “You should definitely buy the yearbook because we work really hard on it, and our hard work really shows off in the end.”
Junior Geal Talez, now in his second year with yearbook, highlighted the camaraderie among members: “I like the people in yearbook. They’re fun. I feel like we work together a lot and get a lot of things done.” Talez also noted the significance of this year being the 15th anniversary and encouraged students to purchase the yearbook early while prices are lower.
Newcomer Daniel Reyes, a first-year member, reflected on his experience so far: “My favorite part is taking pictures and asking people questions.” He acknowledged that while it’s enjoyable, yearbook might be challenging for those not comfortable with social interactions. Still, Reyes is excited for the year ahead: “I’m excited to make spreads, I hope it turns out good.”
With the yearbook’s legacy growing stronger each year, students are encouraged to not only buy a copy but also consider joining if they’re looking for a fun and rewarding way to contribute to school life.
