With a new school year comes new school teachers. The Spartan Oracle has interviewed some of the new teachers from our 23-24 school year for their opinions on Porter HS. For the new school year, Porter has over 30 new teachers and staff. With the new staff on board, admin is glad to have them and hopes they feel welcome and at home in the new school.
“We are so happy to see our new teachers enjoy and choose Porter High School. We are glad you are here and will help us succeed in our education. We want to warmly welcome and congratulate the news teachers that have joined us here in Porter,” said Ms. Susan Messmer, AP.
English III Teacher Ms. Adrienne Meade, who just moved from Colorado to teach at PHS. In Oklahoma, Ms. Meade taught English II and IV, and coached cheerleading at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Meade moved to the Porter area to be closer to her family who live in Porter and Galveston.
“I knew I wanted to be closer with my family and my niece was talking all the time about how much she loved Porter and how great the community is. I have had an amazing experience here at Porter so far.”
We hope that you have an amazing experience while you work here Ms. Meade.
Our second teacher that we interviewed was Mr. Dominic Kelley, who comes from Hambrick Middle School and is the new assistant theater teacher. Mr. Kelley transferred to Porter because he knew it was a good group based on what he saw when he judged the Theater Soaps during competitions.
“It was refreshing to see students who are talented, dedicated, and so passionate about the theater community in our school.”
We hope that you enjoy your experience here while working at Porter High School and in the Spartan theater community.
