On October 8th, 2023, the robotics team traveled to Lone-star College to compete in their first robotics competition of the season.
“We had the kickoff day September 2, so this has been six weeks for us to work on this robot. Our team has been competing in BEST Robotics since 2013, so this will be our eleventh year competing. “Since our theme is medical, we went and toured the Natural Museum of Health Science, and our presentation team presented presentations to our health science teachers to ask questions, which really helped our team out.” Says robotics teacher Mr.
“This years theme is more medical based, so incision decision is the actual title.” Says VP of business development Daisy Aguilar
“So basically what it’s about is BEST Robotics gives the task, which is incision decision, so basically our robot is a model for a surgery robot.” Says chief compliance officer Michael Robbins.
“The robot drives around basically a human body, and it goes inside the heart, it goes around, and it moves veins all over the arena. So it’s like we’re building a little micro-bot that goes inside someone and performs surgery on them.” Says chief innovation officer River Dowdy.
Since their first competition is coming up, River Dowdy says “I think we are gonna get first place in the region and the state.
