First UIL competition 2024 completed

UIL WALLER

The Porter High School UIL Academics team and Speech & Debate team participated in the Waller High School invitational in Waller, TX! The Waller invitational is a special tournament that falls near Halloween where different high schools gather to win awards based on their academic and debating skills.

Our school competed on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th in events like:

Congress
CX Debate
LD Debate
Prose & Poetry
Storytelling
Extemp
Current Events
Radio news
Soapbox
ETC.

We congratulate our team members for the following awards:

Bella Graham : 1st place Soapbox , 6th place Storytelling, 4th place Impromptu
Kylie Kunkel : 3rd place Varsity LD

Kennedy Miller : 7th place Poetry

We are very proud of these talented students representing our school around the district. Their next competition is on December 7th in Waco, TX. We are very excited to see the team shine even more!
