On September 15th Football had an eventful senior night accompanied by friends and family at Randall Reed Stadium. The class of 2024 did a walk through on the field with their closest family members or even friends before their football game against Port Author Memorial. It was a very emotional night for families and even for the seniors knowing it is going to be their last year in football.
“I’m definitely very emotional, it’s bittersweet because as much as I love high school football and the family around me I am ready to take the next step in life.” says quarter back Payton Evans-Pickens.
Not only is this about football’s senior night but also they’re support system around them that have been in every game and never left their side, including Band, Golden Graces, Cheer, Color-guard, Sports Medicine and AJROTC. This is why Senior Night is about honoring the seniors that have put many hours into practices before the games.
” As Deputy Commander and Drum Major I learned a lot of leadership and learned how to be more independent and more disciplined within myself,” said Ashley Hernandez who is involved in both AFJROTC and Band.
“We are so sad it’s are last year with our seniors but we want them to enjoy it and we bought them a few little gifts to celebrate them and we are looking forward to just having some fun with them one last time,” said Julia Kelly the Golden Graces head coach.
