This year, people throughout the NCISD district have gathered to put on a wonderful musical performance “The Wizard Of Oz”. Under the direction of Cara Cavenaugh Woodard, Douglas Holcomb, Greg Goedecke, and Stuart Woodard, these students have worked for months to put together the musical.

Senior Emma Klitus played Dorothy, she said this was by far her favorite musical she was in.

“With this being my last year, I feel pretty good about it because of all of my friends are also in it. And I have the lead role.”

Choir director Cara Cavenaugh Woodard said this was her favorite performance in so many ways.

” I think that the cast and crew worked better than any cast and crew I’ve ever had. They brought multiple people all around the school, and have developed a family overall.”

Ethan Achee says this was his first musical to ever do. He wished he did more musicals throughout his high school career, but ending his senior year, he’s very grateful to play a lead role.

Biology teacher Kristen Maddux says as a mom and having two students in Munchkin Land “Adrianna Maddux and Brinley Maddux” it was stressful having them there for practice and up early at the school at 7 am, but she loved making her children happy. She enjoyed seeing the joy this brought her kiddos.

Meanwhile, Arianna & Brinley Maddux said they loved being in the musical. They definitely want to be a part of another one. They enjoyed making new friends, the late nights, etc.
