Ag students compete in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

On March 6th, students Katelyn Curry, Melissa Rubio, Dustin Atkinson, and Hunter Johnson participated in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo that took place in the NRG Stadium.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates, entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage, and provides year-round educational support within the community. This allowed students to learn more about agriculture and also have a chance to win medals.

“I decided to participate because it was a way to ease me and introduce me into FFA/agriculture,” said junior and participant, Melissa Rubio.

There were many different events like Texas Tables, Container Grown Plants, Rodeo Cup, and Horticulture Photography.
