With October finally here, the Porter Marching Band has began their competition season. As many of us know the Porter Marching Band is a 3x State Marching Championship Competitor and were the 2021 Area I Marching Champions. So it is no surprise that the band has started the year in an amazing manner! 

  On Saturday, October 1, 2022, the band competed in not one but TWO marching competitions. Both competitions went remarkably well, as the band won 1st place in their class and 3rd place overall with 4A´s, 5´As, and 6A´s! Later on that day the band traveled to the Clear Creek Challenger Stadium to compete in the US Bands Houston Regional. There the Spartan Band won 3rd in their class and best percussion, but most exciting of all the band advanced to finals!

   While the Spartan Band knew they had tough competition they put on an amazing show and beat four 6A´s and were the only 5A band to even be in finals. This itself is an impressive accomplishment but not a surprising one from our Spartan Band. Way to go guys!

As the competition season continues the band will participate in the Lonestar Preview Competition, UIL Region, and lastly the Area I Marching Contest. Come and support the band as they grow and prepare for these upcoming competitions!
