This year, the Porter Choir Program held a wonderful representation of the Holiday Spirit within Music. Directors Mr. Goedecke, and Mr. Morgan presented their Winter Choir Concert this past December 8th. Each of the six choirs presented 3 songs, with an exception for the Spartan Women (varsity), and the Spartan Chorale, which brought to the stage 4 and 6 pieces respectively.

Although there were a few surprises with some of the other choirs. The accompanist has a big part in this year’s Winter Concert with  Christian Serna & Phoenix Steele on Percussion, and Melanie Easley on Oboe for the Treble Choir. As well as Amelie Castellano on Cello for the Advanced Tenor-Bass Choir. Lastly, Mr. Chan Pollok on Piano for all choirs. Would also like to acknowledge the soloist at the concert. Tucker Mosier for the Tenor-Bass Choir, Hannah Waltmon & Janiya Arroyn for the Treble Choir, and Noah Willard & Julian Ramirez for the Advanced Tenor-Bass Choir.

With this being the Choir Winter Concert, it could have not been held with a highlight on the Spartan Mixed Choir, which at this time of year turn into the Spartan Chorale. They did not bring just any sort of performance, instead in between each choir, they sang one of the caroling songs, bringing Christmas Joy to the audience. In fact, you may have even seen the Spartan Chorale as they have been traveling the district during the Christmas season spreading the Christmas Spirit and creating memories for every little boy and girl around New Caney ISD.
